Disinfection of ventilation systems
Regular disinfection of ventilation system is important not only for its proper operation, but also for human health. People breath the air coming from the ventilation, and if it is broken or not clean enough the air can be polluted and have a temperature and humidity that is not suitable for them. The air is much dirtier and more toxic than street air if the ventilation is contaminated. Therefore, it is very important to contact specialists in time for the disinfection.
1. Checking the system using video to determine the degree of pollution.
2. Cleaning the system.
There are 3 types of cleaning, depending on the degree of pollution and the type of extracting channel:
Disinfection consists of 2 steps:
· Mechanical (using vacuum pump and brush machine);
· Chemical (using vacuum pump and chemical agents);
· Combined (first the mechanical type, and then the chemical type).
Mechanical and chemical methods are less expensive, as compared to the combined method.
Ventilation systems can differ from each other. For example, combined extract-and-input system has its own characteristics, therefore, before getting started it is necessary to study the documentation (passport, drawing, etc.) Dust pumps are used to collect water and dust. For positive ventilation and ventilation elements there is mixed type of cleaning (wiping and sprinkling). For other structural elements, cleaning is carried out using a cold mist of disinfectant.
Whilst ventilation system cleaning and disinfection in apartments and private houses are voluntary, in industrial and production facilities these procedures are necessary, which is approved by law.
Causes for cleaning and disinfection:
1. Condition and performance improvement;
2. Increasing of operating life;
3. Disease prevention;
4. Microclimate and air temperature improvement;
5. Reducing the risk of fire.
Attention!!!
There is a strong possibility of fire occurring in the ventilation systems with accumulation of dust and dirt. That situation is very dangerous because fire gets other rooms through the ventilation system.
